Southern purchased Naylor Love joinery on the 1st of July 2001.
It retained all the existing factory and management staff, agreeing
to retain all staff privileges, long service leave etc.
MANAGEMENT
AND ADMINISTRATIVE CAPABILITIES
Woodworks Southern Ltd, due to its long history in the industry
has all the necessary systems, machinery and a stable workforce
in place to undertake any type of work. We pride ourselves on completing
all our contracts on time and on being ‘right first time’.
Our subcontractors, eg; spray painters, lino layers, metalwork manufacturers
are all well established reputable Dunedin companies with whom we
have had many years of dealings.
TECHNICAL CAPACITY
The Office. In the office we employ 4 staff. We have an office manager
responsible for reception, payroll, and creditor/debtor invoices.
We employ 3 quantity surveyor/project managers responsible for pricing
contracts, then seeing them through to completion. Our contract
managers come from a joinery trade background and have been directly
responsible for running contracts for more than 4 years.
The
office has 6 networked computers, one at each workstation, and we
run a comprehensive business computer package called Finbuild. This
package allows us to look up instant up to date, comprehensive information
on every one of our contracts at any time. It provides us with an
extensive breakdown of every item involved in the job and is linked
fully with the payroll, debtor and creditor modules of the package.
It allows us at any time to monitor progress versus budget. costs
to date and time to completion.
PERFORMANCE AND EXPERIENCE
Woodworks Southern has an annual turnover of around $4.5 million,
the majority of which is made up of contracts in the $150,000.00
plus bracket. We have worked with the majority commercial building
contractors in Otago and Central Otago as well as with Arrow International
and Octa Associates.
Past and Present contracts include;
St James Theatre Fitout Dunedin, Wall facades,
entry facades, reception and ticketing counters, borrowed lights,
balustrades, stairs and acoustic doors. Client was Naylor Love Construction,
